The doctors were able to remove all of the AVM from Katherine's brain!! Not only that, but she raised up her hand and wiggled her fingers, and tried to take out her feeding tube - which leads them to believe that it was bothering her, so her swallow reflex is not affected by the surgery which is one thing they were worried about. Also, she was able to wiggle all ten toes on demand more than once. She is still in a medically induced coma for the next 35 ish hours. But, the good news is she is NOT paralyzed, as she has been moving her extremities.
Her baby boy is taking a bottle like a champ (mom was breastfeeding), and seems to be holding up quite well regardless of all of the stress.
This situation is not resolved, and Katherine still has a long road ahead. Please continue to pray.
Thanks to everyone who e-mailed to let us know you were praying. For the next couple of days there will be a prayer meeting here at 7 am and 5 pm pacific time. If you can join us then, please do! Otherwise, any time you think of it, lift up a prayer. It is working. God is good.

I do not know y'all, but I live in Montgomery and happened upon your blog. I used to go to First Baptist and we have been diligently praying for Katherine. I don't know her personally, but we are still praying for God to heal her. Please know that we join you in praying for her and their sweet family! Praise the Lord for what He has done so far!!
My prayers go out to Katherine, her husband, and her son. Life is so fragile! Things like this remind me of that fact. I am so thankful that little James is taking a bottle well ... Casen has such a hard time with that and it worried me so much when I had to leave him!
