Well...I feel like for the last week and a half I have been living in another world. Just allow me this one post of being, well...a teenager I guess.
A couple weeks ago I went with Travis to see Twilight. I really liked it, so I decided I was going to try to read the first book in the series. I am usually not into scifi/fantasy/vampire stuff - but Travis liked the first book and wanted to see the movie, and it didn't look too bad, so I decided to go. I liked the movie alot more than I thought I would, so the reading of the first book began...
I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
I could not put the book down. And I mean it. Every single little second of the day that I could possibly be reading I was reading. I like reading, but I have never read a book that I just could not put down. Travis finished reading the second book in the series about the time I finished the first one, so I moved on to the second (New Moon) and he moved on to the third (Eclipse). Again...I could not put the book down. I was so into the story. We finished our books at the same time and moved on tot he next (fourth book is Breaking Dawn). I finished all four books in a week and a half. ELEVEN days (I read the fourth and longest book in 24 hours). I have never read a book more than probably 300 pages until these books. And even a 300 page book would usually take me a week at least to read because I would probably only read a couple chapters a day. I liked all of the books I read, but nothing like the twilight series. The first book is 498 pages, the second is 563 pages, third is 629 pages, fourth was 768 pages. That's 2, 458 pages in eleven days.
Now that I have read all of the books we are going to see the movie again.
I will read the books again, that's for sure. And I never do that. They are the best books I have ever read.
You should read them. That is all.

I had a pretty similar experience with those books. They're awesome!
I agree, they are great books, and so fun to read. I'm glad someone else is obsessed and it's not just me! :)
I haven't read the books (I honestly don't have time for anything anymore), but I did also enjoy the movie a lot more than I thought I would and kind of want to go see it again. All of my students are reading them though, and have been encouraging me to read them as well. And isn't there something weird about the last book being leaked on the interent and the author refusing to finish it? Or at least, this is what a student told me!
But, I know how you feel with this, as that's exactly what happened to me with the 1st 4 Harry Potter books. :)
hmmm i'll look into that. though right now I'm tackling the Iliad and the odyssey. AFter that, sounds like a good idea!
Ok, I am so glad that you posted something about that series. I love to read at night before bed and I am totally hookd on Nicholas Sparks and Francine Rivers BUT I have read all their books to date. I have been looking into the Twighlight series but didn't know if it was moe high school-ish. Thanks for reading!
That is great!! I haven't read the books yet, but I am actually dying to! I am waiting until after we have Casen's birthday party. Otherwise, I don't think there would be so much as a balloon up. Once I am into a book - that's all I can do during naptimes until I finish it! :)
